MY MBAO STORY

I have dedicated my professional life to becoming an expert maker. My love of the craft stems from a  passionate about wood and making ever since I helped my dad in the small farm carpentry workshop in Kenya, and the ongoing anticipation of turning concepts into reality. This culminated into a love for nature and woodworking. That is why I opened my studio in 2023, at Myreside Studios  to show the people the true beauty behind my handcrafted pieces.

I studied Product Design at Edinburgh Napier and have created work for the Scottish Design Exchange in Edinburgh during my studies.

My childhood in Kenya and travels around the rest of Africa have influenced my design style and aesthetic, to create modern rustic designed furniture which emphasizes the natural beauty of wood and material used in my furniture.

 

I aim to continue to learn new techniques form local craftsman from countries as travel and continue to develop my skills, so I can design pieces to bring the natural beauty of nature into the home and as well outdoor furniture.
